A traditional Portuguese dessert, the egg tart has become an essential local treat in Macao.
My olfactory journey takes me back to Macao, where I grew up. I still remember the sweet aromas drifting from the egg tart shop beside the river.
Butter, biscuits, cheese, yoghurt, fresh lemon zest, and the scent of the frangipani tree by the entrance—all these aromas come together as though I could taste them.
