When people talk about pears, they tend to ask: Is it crisp? Is it sweet? Their fragrance is often overlooked.
Yet a pear’s complete scent is almost impossible to capture through essential oil distillation. The moment the fresh fruit is cut, its watery freshness, coolness, green peel, and delicate flesh begin to lose their fleeting aromas. To express a pear in perfume is to preserve those ephemeral details.
Poire de Fée captures a pear remembered, and a life of quiet abundance. The freshness of fragrant Asian pears and the fullness of European pears are taken apart and composed anew. In the studio, each trial and refinement seeks to preserve every facet: a pear’s freshness, its layers, and the scent of ripeness.
At first spray, sparkling champagne notes emerge alongside vivid, freshly cut pear. A translucent juiciness slowly unfolds, while the delicate scent of jasmine sambac blossoms through the fruit. The white florals are full and soft, enriching the composition without overwhelming it.
Gradually, tea notes appear. The lightness of white tea intertwines with the fresh, mellow character of gyokuro and sencha, gently drawing the fruit into focus. The fragrance moves like clouds carried on the wind, leaving a long, lingering trail.
